I have lately become more aware of the battles people are fighting around us.  Those unseen battles.   I have become more aware of these amazing people’s inner strength.  To walk through every day, fighting to stay alive, and still they smile.  Still they see the beauty in what is around them.  Still they find time to listen to my issues.  And still they say: “I can beat this.”

Let this be me.  The day I lay my head down, I would want to say: I lived.

I found a song that truly sums up the meaning to this.  The video shares the life of a 15 year old boy, Brayn Warnecke,  living with Cystic Fibrosis, and how he never gave up on live.  How he never excepted that he was limited, but rather did everything in his power to live life to the fullest, right to the end.

“I want to make the most out of my life and have as much fun as I possibly can.  My biggest fear is not being able to do that.”   Brayn Warnecke

We cannot just exist from day to day.  Life was not given to us to just exist.  We were created to live, to move, to give, and to do what ever we can to give meaning and to find fulfillment.

I gladly share the lyrics of the song, I lived, with you.  I hope you place them in your heart and make them part of your lifestyle:

I hope when you take that jump
you don’t fear the fall
I hope when the water rises
you built a wall
I hope when the crowd screams out
they’re screaming your name
I hope if everybody runs
you choose to stay
I hope that you fall in love
and it hurts so bad
The only way you can know
you gave it all you had
And I hope that you don’t suffer
but take the pain
I hope when the moment comes,
you’ll say
I, I did it all

I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
Yeah with every broken bone
I swear I lived

I hope that you spend your days
but they all add up
And when that sun goes down
hope you raise your cup
I wish that I could witness

all your joy and all your pain
But until my moment comes
I’ll say
I, I did it all

I owned every second that this world could give
I saw so many places, the things that I did
Yeah with every broken bone

I swear I lived
