I once was told this story:
A lady stopped at a petrol station, and asked the attendant: “I want to move to this town, but tell me: how are the people living here?”
The attendant waited for a few seconds, before replying: “How was the people from the town you are living in right now?”
The lady immediately replied: “Oh, they are such rude people, no respect for each other. Really a terrible bunch together.”
The attendant looked at her and replied: “So are the people living in this town.”
A few day later, another person asked the same attendant the same question: “I want to move to this town, but tell me: how are the people living here?“, to which the attendant asked the same question: “How was the people from the town you are living in right now?”
This person replied: “Oh, the people from my previous town was so nice. They are friendly, respectful and amazing to live among.”
This is what the attendant replied: “So are the people living in this town.”
The moral of the story?
Only YOU can choose your happiness. Your ATTITUDE towards others and towards situations, will either make you happy, or unhappy. No one can make that choice, just you. Where you live, what ever your circumstances, the way you look at it will decide your happiness.
